Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at jordan@leomarbelite.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What do I do when the Leo Marbelite application is complete?

What To Do

  1. Never use soft water to fill your pool.
  2. It is highly recommended that the pool be completely filled with water 24-30 hours or sooner after Marbelite application is complete to avoid the finish from drying out. Shrinkage cracks or webbing may occur and will be visibly more apparent or mottled coloured applications if the pool is not filled quickly enough.
  3. When filling with a garden hose it must be placed at the bottom of the pool near the drain with a rag tied around the end to disperse the water (never walk into the pool). The hose must be gently placed in the bottom near the drain from the top of the pools edge.
  4. Having water delivered by trucks is a very wise option to speed up the filling process. Leo Marbelite Inc. will organize this service for the homeowner with their permission. This is an extra cost and is not included in the cost of the Marbelite. (Budget $800.00-$1,000.00 depending on pool size).

What is the proper winterizing water level?

What To Do

  1. Once it is time for the pool to be winterized it is necessary to drain the pool below the return outlets.
  2. Once the directional eyeballs are removed and the plumbing lines and equipment have been blown with air, threaded plugs should be inserted tightly into the return threads.
  3. At this point proper winterizing chemicals should be introduced and a good (hole free) pool cover should be placed on the pool.
  4. The water level should be raised two (2) inches below the tile line. 5. This will reduce marbelite frost damage to exposed areas since the weight of the snow will raise water level to the waterline tile area.

What do I do when the pool is filled with water?

What To Do

Day 1: When the pool is filled, start the filtration system and adjust the pH to 7.2 ppm using pre-diluted muriatic acid. Add a sequestering agent like Jack’s Magic Magenta Stuff (1 bottle per 40,000 liters). Vacuum the walls and floor with a non-metal brush vacuum, backwash the filter if needed, and brush the pool surfaces.

Day 2: Brush and vacuum again if calcium dust persists. Test pH (7.2-7.6 ppm), Alkalinity (80-120 ppm), and adjust Calcium Hardness to at least 200 ppm, adding pre-diluted CaCl2 in 10 lb increments.

Day 3: Repeat brushing, vacuuming, and testing. Add pre-diluted chlorine to maintain 1.5-3 ppm, but do not add salt for 28 days.
